Golden Gate Park Wedding | Katherine + Norman

I take a look up at the sky. Not a cloud in sight, mostly sunny with highs in the 80s. Around the time of July in SF, I usually expected Karl the Fog’s friendly, yet pesky overbearing presence to be looming over the west side of the city. Karl had effectively photobombed a few portrait sessions before, and I’m sure today wouldn’t be any different. But nope, not today. Today is a perfect day to celebrate love with an intimate Golden Gate Park wedding.

The Couple

Today’s lovely couple is Katherine and Norman. A quick story about Kat. I was first introduced to Kat by my boyfriend Mark at a bar 8 years ago. Kat was part of Mark’s core group of high school friends and as the new girlfriend at the time, I couldn’t help but feel a little shy and intimidated. One of the first few girls I talked to was Kat and my first impression of her was that she was super sweet and friendly. She made sure to make me feel included the entire night and always made sure I had a drink in my hand.

It’s a memory I always like to look back on at chuckle at, because it felt like a wildly different time. A time when I was working in the city after college, a time when all of us hung out at bars every other weekend, but also, a time before Kat met Norman. Fast forward to today, here I am on their wedding day! Here they were, Kat dressed in a stunning floor-length satin wedding dress and Norman, dressed in a navy suit, running off into the woods of Golden Gate Park to get married in front of their closest family and friends.

Thank you

Norman, I’ve never seen Kat as happy as she is with you and I am truly glad she found someone as wonderful and kind as she is and I am so happy you guys found each other. To Kat, I hope I redeemed myself with these wedding photos! Thank you for being my first model and for being the wonderful friend that you are, love you so much! And congratulations to this beautiful couple!
