If there was ever a teensy silver lining of the pandemic – and I mean teeny tiny – it would be temporary suspension of bay area traffic. But alas, as the population is slowly getting vaccinated and things are opening up, hope is rising once again, and with that, comes a bit of traffic. As much as it can be a headache – try driving to the east bay at rush hour – I am pretty happy that things are starting to look up. On this particularly sunny day, I am meeting Yenling + Brian at Cesar Chavez Park for a bay area maternity session and I could not be more thrilled! I love exploring new locations for photos – even though I was not able to arrive early and scout ahead this time, I was pleasantly surprised by the different backgrounds Cesar Chavez park had to offer. Beachy sand grass in one location, a small forest in the next, rocky ocean bluffs in the next, and rolling hills of green.
During their bay area maternity session, I learned that Yenling + Brian had originally met in Chicago. Despite both being from different parts of the US, the stars aligned and Y + B were able to meet. During their first date, Yenling mentioned to me that on their first date, they went to a thai restaurant and she ended up ordering a dish with tomatoes, despite hating tomatoes. Yenling + Brian brought their adorable little pup Luna and it was such a treat photographing this little growing family. Poor Luna was nearly shaking in her shark costume by the time we wrapped, but thankfully, she was able to look at the camera whenever she was called. What a trooper! It was such a beautiful day, congrats to these two lovely parents, Yenling + Brian! It was such a lovely day to explore somewhere new and meet new friends.
