70 degrees and mostly sunny with mild winds, perfect for a palace of fine arts engagement at golden hour. I had first met Megan + Brandon over email. Megan + Brandon were in town for a wedding for one of my couples (Michelle + Matt) and they wanted to squeeze in a quick engagement session as a toast to the city in which they had met.
First impressions. They say opposites attract, and that could not be truer than of Megan + Brandon. Upon first meeting them both, I couldn’t help but notice the stark contrast between the two them; tall, quiet, and reserved Brandon and sweet, bubbly, and petite Megan. Megan had one of those smiles that could light up a whole room. Brandon was probably wary of this fact the night he first met Megan at Jaxon’s, a country bar they used to frequent when they both lived in San Francisco.
Speaking of – Jaxon’s was stop #4 in our tour de Marina. We first began at Crissy Beach where we practically had the whole beach to ourselves. Next, we made our way over to a very beautiful palace of fine arts engagement where we danced under the big dome and soaked in as much warmth and sun as we could. After that, we had a quick wardrobe change and espresso Martini’s at none other than Balboa Cafe. I had espresso martinis for the first time a weeks prior to the session and it was so good! It truly is an essential Sunday brunch staple! Lastly, we went back to where it all began – a quick dance outside of Jaxon’s.
I had so much fun getting to know this lovely couple and seeing them at Michelle + Matt’s wedding a few days later. It’s always such a joy getting to know my couples and their circle of friends during and outside of wedding day.
Megan and Brandon will be getting married next January in Toronto! Congrats to this lovely couple!
