Lyon Street Steps Engagement | Mariko + Jason

“It’s lucky to rain on your wedding day!” …I told Mariko + Jason, as the rain sprinkled on us as we carefully made our way down the stairs for a Lyon Street Steps engagement. Then they mentioned they also had a flat tire on the way to the session. “Yeah, that’s lucky too!” I said.

Well I don’t know about the last one, but as evidenced by these photos, Mariko + Jason didn’t let a little rain and a flat tire get in the way of their day. That day we explored different parts of SF. Starting at Lyon street steps which was just blocks down from Mariko’s old elementary school and eventually making our way towards city hall where M + J said their vows and danced right in front of city hall. As we made our way over and slipped into the sunlight, Jason wistfully recalled the day he met Mariko, when he casually struck up a conversation about his love of Justin Beiber while they sat together on the bus. Even though they weren’t able to share the day with their loved ones (Mariko’s family is in Japan, and Jason’s, in Hong Kong), it was still a beautiful day nonetheless as they got married in front of their friends. And just as their last dance ended, the sun peeked out just in time to end the day!

Congrats to these two sweethearts M + J!
