Laurelwood Park family session | Murphy Family

Once upon a time, there was discussion around the dinner table about what hobby or passion would make you spring out of bed early in the morning. For my brother in law, it was fishing. Getting up before the crack of dawn, driving out to the lake, all in the vain hope that today will be the day you catch a big fish or get a catch at all.

For me, I’m not exactly a morning person, but I will spring out of bed to photograph a sunrise. Watching the light spread and flow over the horizon gives me as much comfort as a cup of hot green tea. Today’s weather was 70 degrees and sunny, perfect for a Laurelwood Park family session in San Mateo.

Today’s sunrise session is with none other than the sweet Murphy family; Haley, Ned, and their little one, Wells. I was referred to Haley by another sweet mama I had the pleasure of photographing, Katianna, who herself is kept pretty busy these days with 2 boys. It was almost Well’s 1st birthday in a few days and it’s a big milestone for the little man. Wells, like any toddler that just discovered his legs, was eager to walk around! He had an adorable strut like a cowboy in boots and nothing brought forth a bigger smile than the moment his dad started dribbling a basketball. I joked to Haley and Ned, that this was the moment I’ll remember when I see Wells playing for the NBA one day.

Thank you to the Murphy family for this beautiful Laurelwood Park family session. It was such a treat to photograph Wells before his 1st birthday. Happy birthday Wells!
