MARIN HEADLANDS

57 degrees and cloudy at 6pm with winds 13 mph or less. Otherwise known as THE perfect weather for an ethereal Marin Headlands engagement. Judy + Ian had first contacted me in November for their wedding in May. But it wasn’t until this week that I had finally seen them in person. Upon meeting Judy and Ian over Google meet, I had a sense that Ian was the more quiet while Judy was more bubbly. Despite those initial impressions, nothing could have prepared me for what I had witnessed during the engagement session.

THE COUPLE

Simply put, Judy + Ian are so dang adorable!!! I thought that I would get one shred of nervousness from Ian. But he made it clear that as long as he was with Judy, there was nothing to be nervous about. I barely had to pose these two. They had a natural ease with each other. In getting to know the both of them throughout the session, I had learned that Judy + Ian love to hike together. Marin Headlands was just one of many of their favorite hikes throughout the bay area. Judy wore the most beautiful flowy white dress that made more the most dramatic shots. And Ian looked so dapper in a light pink collared shirt and brown dress shoes. It was the perfect outfits to wear set against a beautifully overcast and ethereal Marin Headlands engagement backdrop. See more here of past engagement sessions at Marin Headlands.

We kicked off the session with a few shots at Battery Alexander where we found the most beautiful wildflowers! From there, we decided to head down the road to get a few more shots set against the gorgeous mountain backdrops that made us feel like we were in Hawaii. Lastly, we ended the session with more photos at Rodeo Beach where we people watched and listened to the waves gently crashing against the shore. It was the most beautiful day.

Judy and Ian are getting married in May at Ardenwood Historic Farms and I cannot be more thrilled to capture their wedding day. Congrats to this lovely couple!
